While students often think of “school” and “home” as separate parts of their lives, it’s not unusual for events that are occurring in a student’s non-academic life to have an effect on their classroom performance. Academic advisors routinely refer students to the following resources, depending on the area of expertise needed.
Many students have trouble adjusting to the challenges of college life. It is quite common to feel anxious or concerned about course work, social life, or the everyday pressures of being a college student. The Counseling Center is a place where students can talk about these problems.
With all of the time constraints that come with being a college student, it can be difficult for students to make time to see their usual health care provider. University Health Services provides a number of services and programs to help keep students, faculty, and staff healthy!
Voices Against Violence is UMBC’s dedicated response to sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking, and harassment.
The Women’s Center at UMBC advances gender equity from an intersectional feminist perspective through co-curricular programming, support services, and advocacy for marginalized individuals and communities. We prioritize critical social justice as our community value, with a deliberate focus on women, gender, anti-racism, and feminism.
All are welcome as long as they respect women. Their experiences. Their stories. Their potential.
