Group Advising

CNMS Advisors provide Registration Advising in a group setting for Life Sciences students in special populations. At this time, those populations include students who have an additional academic advisor as a result of their participation in a scholars program (e.g., Meyerhoff or Honors College) or varsity sport, and for students who have demonstrated academic success.

Group Advising sessions vary somewhat, depending on the target population, but generally include the following topics, time for Q&A, and a few minutes to meet one-on-one with an advisor:

  • Course Sequencing
  • Goal-setting
  • Academic Resources
  • Importance of Experiential Learning (internships, undergraduate research, civic engagement, etc.)
  • Time Management
