Want to learn more about the upper-level laboratories offered by the Biological Sciences Department? The Spring 2016 Investigative Biology Labs poster session features posters from students’ independent projects from Genetics Lab (BIOL 302L), Developmental Biology Lab (BIOL 340L), and Phage Hunters:Genome Analysis Lab (BIOL 316L). 

Students will be describing their projects, including:

  • Brain development in chicks
  • Regeneration in planaria
  • Experiments using axolotl and zebrafish.
  • Experiments based on work by H. Newcombe and M. Casadaban in E. coli, among others
  • New work performed for the Lu lab investigating Arabidopsis.
  • Work investigating Bacillus phage SalinJah, a phage isolated last semester from Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, and Streptomyces phage Nanodon from Kilauea, HI, both of which were annotated in this semester and have been submitted to GenBank.

Poster Sessions are open to the public, and will be held daily from 1:30-3 pm on May 2-5, in front of the Mural on the first floor of the Biological Sciences Building. Light refreshments will be served.
